Director James Kleinhert shares the background of the making of his documentary,
Spirit Riders, screening in the Newport Beach Film Festival. This film leads the audience on a profound journey inside the culture of the Lakota Nation and traces the movement begun in 1990 through peace and unity horseback rides and ceremonies to let go of the grief and despair which persisted for a hundred years following the 1890 massacre at Wounded Knee. James Kleinhert shot 300 hours of footage in the making of this 90-minute film, featuring music by U2, that envisions a new, hopeful future through ancient traditions.
