Jennifer Hunter: “Empowering People to Create the Sustainable End of Hunger: A New Framework of Thinking”

Jennifer Hunter, a Zen Buddhist Priest and co-leader with her husband of the Santa Monica Zen Center, believes creating truly effective strategies and actions for the end of hunger requires a new framework of thinking, a new paradigm. It will not happen in the course of “business as usual,” but rather in the action of co-equal partnerships with the hungry people. Jennifer’s relationship to charitable giving changed completely as the result of her leadership as one of six financial underwriters to commit $900,000 for the work of The Hunger Project to begin and be sustained in Ethiopia and her direct experience of The Hunger Project efforts in Bangladesh and Uganda. www.smzen.org www.thp.org
